Nikon 70-200mm f2.8

I'm thinking about a telephoto to add to my camera kit. I'd like to get something with more zoom, but then again I really like the quality of the 70-200. I won't be able to shoot images really far away without an extender, but for daily use this is a very practical range.

Anyone have any recommendations or experience with this lens or any telephoto above 100mm?

I didn't have the money to spend on something like the 70-200 with f2.8 but I got the Nikon 18-200 VR (review) and really like it.

You can see some of my shots here, and most of these were with the 18-200.

yah, i love your photos. really impressive stuff!! after considering price and timing, i've decided to hold off on the 70-200mm f2.8. while it is a fantastic lens, i can't justify paying that much at this moment (since there's a ton of other stuff i need to get first). i'm going to see if i can borrow a 70-300mm lens from a friend and play with that range and see if it's what i'm looking for. thanks for sharing and advice! look forward to seeing more of your photos.
